Re: Update to DMII: When?

Sorry to dissapoint but that was a cancelled project. I accounced the decision and actually made the first version (only I had it), but then I realized it would take too much time.

But that doesnt mean I wont ever make another version later on, I will someday.

This sounds cool. Didn't know you had been working on an expansion. Any chance this will ever come out? :)

by Eco Master » Sun Mar 12, 2006

Oh ok.

Sooooooooo...

I'm going camping tomorrow and won't be back 'till Friday. Woo.

by Issa » Sat Mar 11, 2006

Its only for guest users who want to post.

by Eco Master » Sat Mar 11, 2006

Where does it show that?

by Issa » Sat Mar 11, 2006

P.S. whats this HUMAN VERIFICATION thing?

by tjhombreh » Fri Mar 10, 2006

Um, you know, you need to make NO lvl cap, but the editor can only go to lvl 50. That way, if you get to lvl 50, then you don't have to flee every monster, because the game crashes if you level up beyond....

P.S. whats this HUMAN VERIFICATION thing?

by Bob_stew » Fri Feb 24, 2006

EDIT: Ranging from 6 kB to 2 GB actually. :P

by Bob_stew » Fri Feb 24, 2006

Hey Issa. I haven't forgotten you yet, and I hope you remember me, too. :)
Great idea, expanding the storyline of DMII. I look forward to it.

About your monetary problems... I think what you need is a little advertising. :) How many people has actually heard of this site? Not very few, but it could have been so many more people on this forum. [praise] An RPG at the same quality level as an average Issasoft RPG is something you may find in 1 out of 10-15 random freeware RPG's, and I know what I'm talking about. I've got more than 250 freeware games on my computer, size ranging from 100 kB to 2 GB. I've played some ASCII RPG's too, and of course they
have very good gameplay, but they get tiresome after a while, while you are striking that tiny spot between comfortable graphics and exciting gameplay.
[/praise]

You make good RPG's, and I bet your popularity would have been bigger if more people knew your games.

On a side note: What programming language do you use? Will you ever consider releasing the script for one of your early games?

by tjhombreh » Fri Feb 24, 2006

It would be interesting to make a tournament expansion pack that once you beat IT, you automatically gain 1000 experience. And the final boss would be 3 Daemons....

by Eco Master » Wed Feb 22, 2006

Yea, make it so that you can level up after you beat the game and not have to start at the save right before the final boss. Maybe even make i so that there are more things to do after you beat the game, like SUPER ULTRA MEGA SUPER SECRET BOSS!!!

That would be cool.

by Issa » Wed Feb 22, 2006

Hmm, good idea I dunno. That would be a better way to start the expansion...I wish you would have brought that up before I put all that code to load saved games and changed the title screen!

by tjhombreh » Wed Feb 22, 2006

You need to edit DM2 in the way that once you beat Daemon it doesn't automatically return to the title screen. You ought to re-show up somewhere. Or maybe make a little door right behind Daemon that leads to somewhere in the other world, Galen maybe....

by Issa » Wed Feb 22, 2006

Well so far its going along good. You can load original and expansion games at any time, its actually been easy since all the code is there. I am planning to max the level cap to about 50, no stat increase, but getting to level 50 you will have 90 more points to distribute to your stats. In addition you can raise each spell group two more, you wont get a new spell, but it will be a passive affect. Like level 4 in spirit gives all spirit spells +10% healing, level 5 in healing gives +25%, level 4 in attack gives +10% to attack spells, etc. I am also planning to add more monsters obviously, about two more in each equipment category. Also, you will have freedom to travel all over the map, so you can still get items you might have missed. More music will be added too. I wont release a version for a while until a lot of it is done, I rather suprise everybody!

When I'm done with DM2EXP, I will make an IssaSoft CD ISO that people can download and burn a copy and sell it online for like $2 paypal. It'll have all my games on one CD. Or maybe I'll sell DM2EXP for like $1 I am not sure. I need to make some more money to support the site, my costs are $9 a year for the name, $6 a month for hosting. So about $80 a year I need to recoup and I only get like $25.

by Eco Master » Mon Feb 20, 2006

GARGH!!! DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE STORYLINE!!!!!

It makes me wanna play even more ;_;

Awesome

by Guest » Mon Feb 20, 2006

I'm so happy you are making a expansion to Demon's Mantra II. It was a fun game and I look forward to playing the extra stuff. Keep up the good work!

by Issa » Mon Feb 20, 2006

Yea I will release versions when they are ready. DM Tactics isnt a game yet so doesnt need a forum yet, if I ever make it.

by tjohmbreh » Mon Feb 20, 2006

CAN I BE A BETA/ORWHATEVAH TESTER!!!!!! PLEASE!!!

(You need to start a seperate spot in the forum for DM tactics)

by Issa » Sun Feb 19, 2006

I have just completed the intro and basic storyline.

The game starts 10 years after Nina opens her shop. Ryu and Marlee are married and have an eight year old boy named after their favorite person (you have to find out who that is!), Ryu owns the local weapon shop in town and trains the guards. Maurice stops by to visit and say hi, he lives by himself in the mountains nowadays. Unexpectedly an attack on the hometown occurs.

One of the three heroes, Nina, Ryu, or Maruice dies...the saga continues...

Who did it? Why? Whats going to happen? Find out when I'm done!

by Issa » Sun Feb 19, 2006

I have worked on DM2Exp all day today and have gotten pretty far! Its actually pretty easy to add the Exp. So far you can start a new game and load a previously saved game. The save screen allows you to load or save Original or Expansion saves. The Expansion starts you off in the Hometown with some unexpected visitors!

by Eco Master » Sun Feb 19, 2006

I know Issa. =)

by Issa » Sun Feb 19, 2006

I'm just kidding. I dunno what quests there will be. I lost interest in CF2k5 so instead of just sitting around doing nothing I rather make an RPG, they are so much fun anyway.

by Eco Master » Sun Feb 19, 2006

That's mean Issa =(

Everyone knows my chicken would have the special ability: PWN!

Upon activation, opponent dies!

by Issa » Sun Feb 19, 2006

I am going to have a quest where you have to find Eco's chicken. And it will be so ugly and fat and puking and blisters and puss.

by tjhombreh » Sun Feb 19, 2006

Ha, Lol, I want to turn Sofi into a sky chicken....

by Eco Master » Sun Feb 19, 2006

K, but when I start catching chickens in DMII, I'll slap you.

by Issa » Sun Feb 19, 2006

Doing them at the same time.

Update to DMII: When?

by Eco Master » Sun Feb 19, 2006

You gonna take a break from CF2K5? Or you gonna do it after you finish CF?
